Blessed Images

The Image of Our Father Jesus of Good Success is an anonymous work of the XVII Century restored by cordovan sculptor Antonio Castillo Ariza in 1972, by JuanOur Father Jesus of Good Success Martínez Cerrillo between 1973 and 1978, and by Antonio Bernal Redondo and Francisco Romero Zafra in 1988. It is complicated to do a value of the work with the objective of attributing an author, due to, above all, to the continued restorations. However, it is used to be related to Pedro Roldán y Nieva, master who worked and shined in Seville in the XVII Century.
The scene represents the meeting between Jesus and his Mother, the Virgin of Sorrows, in the Via Dolorosa, in presence of Saint John the Evangelist and Saint Mary Magdalene. In 2006 processed for the first time Mary Salome and Mary Cleophas, creating all together the group of the Three Maries. However, the Brotherhood has projected to include three more images in the Mystery (Processional Pass which is narrated in a scene of the Passion of Christ), likeHoly Mary of Charity two romans and a cyrenean, all works made by Miguel Ángel González Jurado.
The Image of Our Lord, nowadays appears bringing the Cross on his right shoulder helped by the figure of Simon of Cyrene. It is leant forward, it turns slightly the head toward left, looking at his Mother, who is bowed in front of Him. The crown of thorns provokes the falling of the blood on his brown face.

Holy Mary of Charity was carved in 1991 by cordovan sculptor Miguel Ángel González Jurado, substituting the ancient Virgin, made by Joaquín Jesús Sánchez.
With the oval head and the dark hair, this Virgin with the red eyes and the marked cheeks, shows her grief behind Our Lord who is carrying the cross. Her griefing is traduced by signs like the frown plunked and the mouth slightly open.
