Blessed Images

The Image of Our Father Jesus Humble in his Coronation of Thorns, was made in 1978 by the sevillian sculptor Francisco Buiza Fernández. It processes with threeOur Father Jesus Humble in his Coronation of Thorns images, a executioner and two romans, made by the sculptor Francisco Pinto Barraquero in 1985. The scene represents the moment when the romans puts with a rod, a crown of thorns in the forehead of Our Lord and a executioner says: "Long life the King of Jewish!"
The image is sat, takes into his hands the rod, like mocking him, the King. Anatomically it is perfect, muscled, and it bents towards forward, and at the same time it turns the head towards left and it looks at the sky. Its face shows a great strength and expressivity, whose hairs are mixed up with the thorns. It is made with green colours, which gives him a painful aspect, typical in theOur Mother and Lady Saint Mary of Mercy newbaroque.
Jesus Humble in his Coronation of Thorns has been considered one of the most important works of artist Francisco Buiza Fernández, and one of the most outstanding in the cordovan images. It is a valiant composition, a cared anatomy, covered by the shroud, which shows the muscles the swollen veins and the smacks received, the blood running, produced by the whipping, which have left him without any strength, these strength that need to finish with its mission on the earth and seem to ask the FatherVirgin of the Merced dressed in Mercedaria raising the sight to the heaven.

The Image of Our Mather and Lady Holy Mary of Mercy, as well as the previous case, it is a work of the sculptor Francisco Buiza Fernández. It is made in 1976 because it was impossible to restore the griefing which was given by Rafael Rodríguez Ortega, which processed in 1955 and 1975.
The Holy Mary of Mercy is a image to dress, whose face is beautiful and full of serenity. The chin is pronounced and the eyebrow curved. The nose is straight and the mouth open, her grief is controlled.
At the beginning, it was thought to use the hands of the ancient griefing for the new sculpture, but at the end Buiza made the new ones, conserving the ancient nowadays in the house of the Brotherhood.
