Official Itinerary

The Official Itinerary is the common route of every brotherhood which compose the Holy week. It is composed by the Claudio Marcelo Street and the Tendillas SquareThe begin of the Official Itinerary, thousand of cordovans gather there in order to see it more easily.
Along its route, there are on both sides, different boxes and chairs which can be rent for the whole week or for single days. What is certain is that they carry out a very important function, in fact they allow the old persons or the children see with total comfort all the Brotherhoods of our Holy Week without moving to the different points of the itinerary of them. In fact they pass through very narrow places such as Deanes Street or San Zoilo Street. Or they enter into their section and receive the warmth of their neighbours. The boxes and the chairs are put in the same way of Tendillas Square where there is the Authorities Box, with the ecclesiastic and municipal ones, and others of our city.
The Group of Brotherhoods, profites of the official race in order to establish a control of all brotherhoods of that day, which is marked by the pass of the Guide CrossThe Box of Authorities in the Tendillas Square of every Brotherhood, it can be going out and entering the temple, like the entrance and the exit of the Official Itinerary. Here there is the figure of the Deputy of Hours who is in charge of the timetable of the parade.
As we have told in the previous lines ,the official race is between Claudio Marcelo Street and Tendillas Square, however this was not like this. If we go back to the 50s the itinerary was bigger which began in the Calvo Sotelo Street (Capitulares nowadays), and it passed through Claudio Marcelo Street till the Tendillas Square, but this one did not end here, how is nowadays, but it prolonged through Gondomar Street and Gran Capitan Street, ending in the Generalísimo Avenue (today Ronda de los Tejares Avenue) where the civil govern was.
At the beginning of the 60s the Official Itinerary was moved to the nearby of the Cathedral, like it is nowadays in many cities, but in a little time it was restored to theThe Box of Authorities in front of the pass of Our Risen Lord centre of the city with little modifications.
Nowadays there is a debate discussing if to come back to the Cathedral or not, but the problems are numerous, beginning by the volume of the procession pass, bigger year after year, and for this reason they could not pass through the narrow and sinuous streets of the Jewish Quarter. The nowadays itinerary seems to offer a medium size solution referring to the itinerary of the brotherhoods (the Brotherhood of Naranjo Section is the farthest), and a bigger space for a bigger and bigger number of people. It is clear that if the farthest brotherhoods (The Mercy, The Star, The Agony..) should move till the Cathedral it could be a great problem for them. However it could be wonderful to see all them entrying into the Cathedral, one day…
