The Image of
Our Father Jesus of the Passion is an anonymous work of the XVII Century that for its characteristics, it was thought to belong to the
sevillian school.

Before the foundation of the Brotherhood, the Image
Our Father Jesus of Passion enyoyed of a great devotion by the neighbours of the
Ancient Alcazar (Saint Basil), most of them workers of the vegetable gardens nearby, so, it was known as the
"Greengrocers' Christ".
The Image of the Nazarene is presented standing up, like doing an itinerary and keeping the cross on his left shoulder. The body is leant towards forward, and he turns slightly the cross. He has a dark head, his sight is low and he shows the griefing contained, produced by the tiredness of keeping the cross and the whipping suffered. The crown, composed by different branches, makes the drops of blood falling down.
The cross that substitutes it was made by Luis Álvarez Duarte, a tree cross that substitutes another one, of the XVII Century, with the squared section and with

vegetable motives and the corners in gold, which are still into the church and sometimes it is used for the cults, like this year, which is carried by Our Lord during the
Via Crucis. A few years ago, the Lord processed with a purple tunic with gold embroiders, and then the Brotherhood decided to process in a white plain tunic, but without any decorations.
The Image of
Holy Mary of Love is, like the previous case, an anonymous work attributed to the
Granada school. It was thought that this wonderful sculpture could be the
Virgin of Sorrows, catalogued by many years ago in Saint Basil. It only had a bust having after a candelabrum. It suffered a lot of restorations due to its bad conservation, like it made the cordovan Juan Martínez Cerrillo in 1946, the one made by sculptor Miguel Ángel Arjona in 1982, or the last one by the cordovan Antonio

Bernal Redondo in 2001.
Its face has a great sweetness, so it is difficult to think about the Sorrows, however now it fits perfectly. It has a pale face with red cheeks, where there are wonderful open eyes, spreading love to her son but at the same time she shows suffering.
The
Holy Wednesday Holy Mary of Love is accompanied by
Saint John the Evangelist, previously known as
Saint John of Palm, also an anonymous work of the XVII Century. It has suffered numerous restorations, like the 2001 one by Antonio Bernal, who put moustache and beard. Saint John has the features equilibrated, the expression is quiet and his appearance shows his love towards the God’s Mother.
