Bugles and Drums Band of the Coronation of Thorns
Historical Review.
Ten years have passed since the founding of this young band on the prestigious brotherhood of Mercy, located in the popular neighbourhood of Zumbacon in Cordoba. The band debuted in early 1997 in the Guide cross of their brotherhood, just the last year that the Mercy made its procession in the early hours of Thursday to Friday. The Holy Monday of 1998, they procession for the first time after its owner, Our Father Jesus Humble in his Crowning of Thorns.
Since its beginning, the work of leading young musicians of the brotherhood was entrusted to Manuel Luque Bellido who was and is director of the Band of "Redemption", and it was the right person to face the first steps of this new corporation for its experience and good work. In style, the intention was to continue in line with the “Cigarreras” in Seville, in fact, at present, management is performed by Pedro Pacheco Palomo, director of the Band of Bugles and Drums of the “Cigarreras” of Seville.
The band had numerous contracts in our city in Holy Week of 1999. They have kept some, others not, but the fact is that, with the permission of the “Huerta de la Reina”, the band is the most involved in our Holy Week.
It has experienced a very positive development in this little ten-year history, exporting its image throughout Andalusia, standing out the musical accompaniment in the mystery of San Gonzalo en el Santo Entierro Magno in Seville in 2004.
Uniform.
Dress uniform, trousers and black jacket, with placket and cuffs embroidered with the shield of brotherhood. White cap with the shield of the band.
