The Procession Parade
There are numerous history around the Holy Week, but not all the Brotherhoods present the same characteristics when they gather. In this section we will speak about
the general vision of a processional parade, from the first of the Nazarenes (People who hide their faces during the procession to make penitential) till the mayor brother.
The maximum responsible of the organization in a parade is a member of the Govern Council, which is elected with the Major Brother every four years by the brothers of the Brotherhood; this member receives the mayor "Deputy of the Govern" or "Deputy of the Procession". This person is in charge of making the List of the Procession, a list where appears the names of those people which compose the parade the day of the procession. According to the tradition of every Brotherhood the order of the nazarenes will be one or another
, depending if they bring the banner or simply the candles, however the most common is that the nazarenes, the oldest in the Brotherhood, occupy the place close to the Owners of the Brotherhood.
Whenever the Lent comes, every brotherhood distributes the Informative Bulletin in which it is notified to the brothers the actuality of the Brotherhood, the projects which are carried out and that they are going to perform….it can be profited the bulletin in order to tell the next dates in which the people which are interested to be part of the penitence, can o to the dependencies of the Brotherhood, and take their Paper of the Place (a document on which the name of the person is put and at the same time the place that he will occupy and the charge he will perform).
If a person wants to be part of the procession he or she has to respect some
requisites depending on each Brotherhood, however, there are not great differences. The main requisite is to be brother of the Brotherhood, you have to pay an annual fee, but, however, due to different motives the Costaleros or Bearers (group of men who transport to Christ or Virgin with their neck) have not to pay for this. On the other hand we have to remember that the "Brother Bearer", carry out all his duties such as to pay the annual fee, like anyone else.
Situating ourselves on the day of the beginning day, a few minutes before the time of penitence, we go back to the figure of the Deputy of the
Procession, who has to be the person in charge of calling at the door of the temple in order the guide cross begins its route.
At the moment that the brotherhood is in the street and till this one come back, is the Deputy of the Procession the maximum responsible of the same, to whom nobody can contradicts his decisions. However, not all the decisions are taken by this person, in fact he is helped by his helpers, other deputies, such as the Deputy of the Hours, who is in charge of the timetable of the procession, or the Deputy of the Route, who are in charge of every itinerary of the nazarenes or even the Deputies of the Procession who control all around the parade: the music, time, etc…. The Major Brother, closes the parade of our city, closes the parade of nazarenes, flanked by other persons of the Brotherhood bringing the Stick of the Major Brother.
