Ya'far House


        Of the two residences located south of the "Service Housing", the West is "PoolYa´far House Plan Hause", the East is "Ya'far House". It was named by Ya'far ibn Abd al-Rahman appointed Prime Minister or Hayib in the year 961 and died ten years later (971). This man was especially important because he took part in the enlargement of the Mosque Alhama in Córdoba and the central pavilion of Madinat al-Zahra. He worked for Caliph Abd al-Rahman III and for Enlargement of Caliph al-Hakam II, as indicated in the inscription of the Mirhab. The coincidence between the rise to the throne of the Caliph and said the appointment as Prime Minister or Hayid Ya'far ibn Abd al-Rahman to place the start ofMain Façade of Ya´far House construction of the "Ya'far House" on the first date, the year 961, because the absence of other documentary or epigraphic evidence.
        The Ya’ far House was renewed from a previous house. The building was adapted to a defined area of prior use in buildings that were present some who either were convicted or were processed to construct others. The house was designed as a residence for personal use of the high character of the court of the caliphs who have spoken (threeInterior Door of the Ya´far House zones): it had a private zone, a public zone and another for the service.
        In the public zone the space is organized in a basilica plan with three longitudinal naves that are linked through horseshoe arch door, and one transversal nave opened to the court. The main façade is organized with a triple horseshoe arch on columns. The floor is made with white marble, except the court that is made with purple limestone.Ya´far House Court Besides, the atauriques decoration is employed in the façade with vegetable and geometric decoration.
        There is also a latrine in the oriental side and deep aisle that links this public part to the private one. Then, you can find bedrooms with a previous little marble pool (in the middle).
      On the western side, ancillary units, which had built before building their own "Ya´far House" contacted the "intimate" and were built to shelter its "space" of service.
