Beginning by the east sector, the first that we find is the main door of the Alcazar (remember that the excavated area corresponds to 10% of the city, and this area is
part of the Alcazar). The North Gate was the way through which the Alcazar was supplied with materials for the building, and for other materials. As its name shows that it is situated in the middle of the northern walls that surround the city. This way is also connected to Córdoba.
You reach this gate through the "Path of the Walnut Tree", whose final point is a tower with stairs that are linked to the surrounding walls.
Nowadays, there are few rests of the original gate due to the spoliation that it suffered; only there is foundation box of the external walls, that were raised in height, the other rests are remaining on the floor whose function is difficult to establish.
For their willingness to be a gateway to bend, followed by a door facing, which would be a small body of guards who controlled the passage from the inside and safer access to the palace where danger. Strengthen the security system at the entrance (called dual-gate) is kept in place two marble doorjambs.
From the north gate starts, left, descending a ramp in a creek that connects to four door and identified by their doorjambs which leads in turn to the next remarkable structure of the Public Sector of the Palace: the building a basilica above.
