Down and towards south of the "Upper Housing" there is the "Trapezoidal Space"
. This space was thought for solving the differences in orientation existing among the housings in the high step and the rest of the alcazar of palatine city, and for controlling the other residences. By its position and location, it became a hub of communications of the fortress and control equipment for large homes that follow.
Originally in this space was built a path to reach the oriental part of the Alcazar and to control the other residences, of which there are still remnants of its surface. Though, soon it was renewed and divided into occidental and oriental.
The half oriental was occupied by a house with a corner entrance that connects the upper part through a staircase, whose rests are only three steps. The discovering of an oven house for the kitchen is believed to be used for supplying the food to the
guard of the palace.
On the other side, the oriental part of the ancient path, confirms the strategically function of the "Trapezoidal Space", with its network of communications. Use by the palace guards seems indisputable. Finally, note that this part of the "Trapezoidal Space" suffered different modifications, that contributed to greater use of the space: an upper floor was built; it can be got through a staircase, situated in the northeast part. This part was put o pillars. Then the occidental part was changed into a house. The oriental part was turned into a controlling zone of the south area.
