In the occidental port of the building, linked with the Northern wall of the Orange Trees Court, we will find the Milk Door. The original shape is unknown but we know the door made by Hernán Ruiz I The Old, in 1505-1510.
We have two parts: the first one is made with shouldered arch, decorated or its upper part, with a canopy arch framed with alfiz, all this crowed with an easy.
Upper there is the same (scheme) with cramped arch one fine building and with un elegant cornice decorated with zoomorphical and antropomorphical figures that decorate the second part.
The complex is ended with a roman arch a little wider than the access / entrance porch decorated with curved mouldings, alternating the convex the concave.
There are numerous theories about this door. It is said that when Córdoba was poorer and the women carrot bring their children up they left the children there, hoping that someone of the Cabildo could bring then up. It is also said that a group of pips willed some children, running over them. The fact made the Cabildo to build a house, The casa de los Expósitos, by Don Juan Fernández de Córdoba.
On the other hand, the name "Milk Door" comes from a fact: the going Mathers used to feed her babies inside before being contracted by the cod house.
