        During the performance of the transept, many bishops brought their ideas for theBehind the Altar Reliefs works: in fact we can admire their “badges” on the corners of this, the transept. The iconography is linked to the different parts of the project, and for this reason to every bishop.
        Fray Juan Álvarez de Toledo (1523-1537), brought a wonderful decoration in the part beyond the altar, of unknown author it presents an iconographic program based on Prophets and Virtues. Not less important are the situated, in the horseshoe arch that from the zone beyond the altar that represent the five scenes of JesuChrist’s Passion, wonderful for its compositiveBehind the Altar Relief:"Getting off the Cross" quality the tales expressed are. The events narrated are: "Jesus in the vegetable garden of the olives trees”, Path of the Calvary, Crucifixion, “Getting off the Cross”, “Resurrection”.
        For Don Manuel Nieto Cumplido, at present archivist of the Cathedral, the iconographic program came out by Fray Juan Álvarez de Toledo in the vault of the part beyond the altar this will be finished by Bishop Don Leopoldo de Austria with the decoration of the perambulatory of the feet of the choir. In this case the vault with gothic cross work wasHorseshoe Arch in the Choir decorated with eight virtues figures / images whose beauty is marvellous.
        Don Leopoldo de Austria (1541-1557). The most important work is the decoration in of the horseshoe arch in the axe nave situated at the feet of the choir. It has twenty-two figures / statue into niches, coinciding with the different vaussoirs of the arc. Upper and into a roman arch, we find different sculptures, God’s Mother, who gave the name to the temple, and the “Eternal Father” upon her. At one side we find “David” and “Isaiah” praying. It is thought that the complex is a Hernán Ruiz II theChoir Vault Young’s masterpiece.
        The vault of Gothic on the Main Chapel was decorated at Fray Juan Alvárez de Toledo’s period. In it all goes around. The Asuncion’s central image whereas on the other side the Emperor Charles I and three saints are represented, then we find twelve minor circles, in which appear the twelve apostils. On the corner of the vaults, many nerves and different musical angels. It is the representation of Glory of Mary; to that the figure of EmperorDetail of "Mary’s Assumption" of the Choir Vault Charles I is added, he died previously.
        The iconography and decoration of the vault of the choir was done at the time of Bishop Francisco Reinoso, even we can appreciate his badge / shield in the middle of the nave. On the voussoir you can find: Solomon, Daniel, Samuel, David, four apostils. In the middle of spandrel, the Virtues: the Faith, Hope, Charity and Strength. On the strip that separates the vault into two parts, there is in the middle Assumption of Mary all together with Saint Acisclus and Saint Victory.
        The vault that covers the transept is even easier. On the vaults section the four evangelists are represented surrounded by angels and winged putties. On the pendentif and alternating withFinal of the Choir space of light we find the eight Fathers of the Church: Saint Ambrose, Saint Jerome, Saint John Chrysostom, Saint Basili The Great, Saint Gregory of Nazianzus, and Saint Athanasius, all them sculptured by Francisco Gutiérrez Garrido. It is crowned by the Holy Trinity complex.
        We finish the analysis with the closure of the choir in its occidental side denominated: the fest of the choir. There appear the four father of the church, framed by columns of the complex is ended by different painting, one of the most important. The set is topped by several paintings, like "The Assumption of Mary", this work is believed to belong to the painter Juan de Alfaro.
